An Educator’s Experience

Journey Into the Classroom

In 2012 I made a life-changing decision to become a teacher. As the great philosopher Yogi Berra once said “When you see a fork in the road, take it.” This path into education has taken me on an unforgettable journey. I’m so grateful to have been given the opportunity to not only teach students, but to learn and grow from them as well. You learn something new every day, right? Every day and every class is an opportunity for my students and me to learn something new in the classroom with one another.

Teaching Philosophy

I aim to cultivate a fun, energetic, hands-on and collaborative learning environment that encourages student growth through creativity, accountability and teamwork. I aim to always encourage and never discourage. Students of all learning styles, are afforded the opportunity to lead discussions and lessons under my guidance. One of the first questions students ask when they enter my classroom is, “What are we going to do today?” It’s my goal when students walk out of my classroom to have them say, “That was fun. I can’t wait for tomorrow’s class.”
